The Nonlinear Dynamic Response of FGM Circular Plate and Flat Spherical Shell by Method of Lines
Abstr act: The nonlinear dynamic response of axisymmetrical functionally graded material (FGM) circular plate and flat spherical shell was studied applying method of lines (MOLs). Firstly, the basic equations of circular plate and flat spherical shell were derived. Then, the MOLs solutions to dynamic response of clamped plate were obtained. The validity of MOLs were proved by comparing MOLs solutions with the FEM ones. Further, the nonlinear dynamic response of the flat spherical shell was solved and the influence of graded material property on it of FGM shells is studied. The results are satisfactory. Therefore, the effective method is provided for the investigation of nonlinear dynamic response of FGM shell structure.
