Effects of laser shock processing on tension properties of X80 pipeline steel welded joints
The surface of X80 pipeline steel welded joints were strengthened by laser shock wave, the tensile mechanical properties of resulting joint and welded joint in original state were analyzed through the tensile test, the fracture morphologies were observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), chemical composition was analyzed by spectrum analyzer, and their fracture mechanisms were investigated. The experimental results showed that the X80 pipeline steel welded joint in original state had the continuous yield feature, without obvious yield platform and elongation was very big, the tensile fracture appeared obvious layered crack. After the X80 pipeline steel welded joint was processed by laser shock, its strength did not improved, its dimple dimension and depth became bigger, and the fracture toughness had improved.
