Dynamic fracture toughness and tensile strength of basalt under different depth

摘要：

　　From the standard test method suggested by ISRM and GB/T50266-99, the dynamic fracture toughness and uniaxial tension strength of the same basalt with different depth have been measured. It is observed that there maybe an empirical relation between dynamic fracture toughness and the tension strength. It provides estimation of the fracture toughness from the tensile strength value, which can be measured more easily.
