Application of Pulse Compression Technique in High Frequency Ultrasonic TOFD Testing
A pulse-compression technique has been applied to ultrasonic TOFD testing of steel plate with its thickness of 60mm. A pair of traditional TOFD probes with center frequency of 10MHz is adopted in this paper. According to the used probes, the LFM pulse is designed and it is measured through transmission experiment. The obtained results show that the pulse compression technique is a powerful tool for thick plate testing with high frequency probe in ultrasonic TOFD testing.
