HOXB7 as a prognostic factor and mediator of color

　　The present study was to investigatethe clinicopathologic significance andpotential role of HOXB7 in the developmentand progression of colorectal cancer (CRC).Experimental Design: The relationshipbetween HOXB7 expression and clinicalcharacteristics of CRC was analyzed in 224paraffin-embedded archived CRC specimens byimmunohistochemistry (IHC).The effects ofHOXB7 on cell growth and proliferation, aswell as on tumorigenesis, were examined bothin vitro and in vivo, using MTT assay, colonyformation assay, cell cycle analysis, softagar assay and tumorigenesis in nude mice.Western blotting and real-time RT-PCR wereperformed to examine the impact of HOXB7 onthe PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling pathways.
