The effect of Resveratrol on Cell Apoptosis via SIRT1

　　Aim: SIRT1 is a nicotinamide adenosinedinucleotide -- dependent histonedeacetylase. SIRT1 plays a key role in thepathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases by regulatingthe cell apoptosis of vascular endothelialcells, vascular smooth muscle cells andcardiomyocyte. Recently, the contribution of vascularadventitial fibroblasts (VAFs) (to neointimaformation and vascular remodeling has receivedconsiderable attention in cardiovascular diseases. Soour study was to investigate the relationship betweenResveratrol and apoptosis of VAFsvia SIRT1. Methods: The VAFs derived from SD ratswere cultured by the explanting method.
