High levels of FCgama R3A and PRF1 expression in NK and NKT ceils from patients with primary biliary cirrhosis
Primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC)is a progressive autoimmune liver disease characterized by the chronic inflammation and destruction of intra-hepatic small bile ducts, leading to liverfmrosis, cirrhosis, and eventual liver failure,The cellular components in human innate immune system, such as natural kill cells fNK),natural kill T cells 0”roT),monocytes,macrophages,and dendritic cells(DC),represent a first—line defensive system against microorganisms, and their activities rely on receptors that recognize molecules in pathogens or envkonmental factors.Natural killer (NK)cells and NKT cells are critical effectors of the innate immune system. However, little is known about the frequency and function ofNK cells and NKT cells in patients with PBC.In the current study,we compared the levels of FCyR3A,TYROBP,and PRFl expression in NK and NKT cells, and examined the potential relationship of their expression with liver function and disease severity in a Chinese population of PBC and healthy subjects.
