Promising diagnostic model of pulmonary tuberculosis constructed by using MALDI-TOF MS technology and weak cationic exchange magnetic beads

Pulmonary tuberculosis(TB)is an infectious disease that disturbs the balanced status of public health.Accurate diagnosis of TB would effectively help controlling the disturbance.Since proteomic fingerprint profiling by matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization time of flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF MS)combined with pretreatment ofmagnetic beads is a robust approach for the investigation of new biomarkers and lots of related researches have built up useful classification trees by using this technique,we used this technology to establish a diagnostic model for TB inthis study.178 serum samples involving 75 patients with TB(43 were smear-positive patients of TB(SPP-TB),32 were smear·negative patients of TB(SNP-TB)),other 43 individuals serving as disease control group(DC group)including 16 lung cancer,20 pneumonia,4 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,3 bronchiectasia and 60 healthy controls (HC group) were involed in this study.
