A NeWOH Formation Channel from Photolysis of O-nitroarenes
The hydroxyl radical(OH) is the most important chemical cleaning agent of the atmosphere. It is the main oxidizing agent in the troposphere, reacting with most trace gases,in many instances as the first and rate-determining step in a chain of reactions. Thereafter,it has been considered to be a significant and challenging subject to search for the potential sources of the OH radical. Nitroarenes are very common industrial chemicals. The adverse aspect can not be negligible that certain nitroarenes are toxic chemicals which have raised safety and environmental hazard concerns. Nitroarenes are directly emitted into the atmosphere or can be formed in situ by secondary photochemical processes in the atmosphere. Our recent work has revealed that OH radicals are generated during the photolysis of benzoic acid,nitrophenols,o-nitrobenzaldehyde,o-Nitrobenzoic Acid.
