Hydrozylation of Benzene to Phenol over Cesium Salt of Mo-V-P Heteropoly acids in the Presence of Hydrogen Perozide
Nowadays,many efforts are in progress for the development of a new route towards phenol synthesis by a one-stage process via direct hydroxylation of benzene to phenol.The most attractive feature of Keggin type Heteropoly acids(HPAs)studied as catalystsfor acid and oxidation catalyzed reactionslies in their redox and acid.base properties.which can be tailored in the molecular level by choosing variousheteroatoms,variOUS atoms of the addenda orsubstituting the addenda with different ions.Thus,hydroxylation of benzene to phenol using HPAscatalysts appeared recently .In this study,wereported a new procedure for the synthesis of cesium salts of Keggin type Mo-V-P HPAs with various vanadium contents and investigated their catalyticaetivity in hydroxylation of benzene to phenol in thepresence of hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant.
