Genetic Polymorphisms in the ob Gene of Indigenous Pig
The obgene was considered as a candidate gene for fatness traits and food intake. Polymorphisms of porcine ob intron 2 and exon 3 among different breeds including Min pig, Wuzhishan pig, Zang pig, E”xi Black pig, Licha Black pig, Yangxin pig, Laiwu pig, were analyzed by PCR-SSCP in the study. G1109T, G1112A, G1184A mutation in intron 2 and G3717T, G3787T, G3862A mutation in exon 3 were found in this study. Min pig, Licha black pig, Wuzhishan pig and Zang pig with high PIC(0.63,0.58,0.56,0.54) in intron 2 and (0.37,0.38,0.37,0.35) in exon 3 should be reserved.
