Recent Research Development in Multiphase Measurement Technology
Nowadays, multiphase measuring technology is a leading technology of metering regions, their maximal advantages are not only saving space and fund but also measuring the production output of each well continuously. The application of this technology is the starting point to exploit marginal and badly environmental field, it will hold the balance to the development of petroleum industry. A series of commercial MPFMs (the multiphase flowmeters) have been researched and developed gradually by oil companies and scientific institutions all over the world, consequently, the application of MPFMs in onshore, offshore, desert and marginal oilfields have become more and more extensive. Unfortunately, as a new technology which is substituting the traditional separation-metering technology gradually, its measuring devices also have some faults such as the low precision, a narrow applicability, the high price. The paper introduces the current status of multiphase measurement technology and the usual and up-to-date MPFMs both home and abroad, and there is a brief introduction to the measuring and calibrating technique of MPFMs, then, the existing problems at present and tendency in the future are pointed out.
