Characteristic Analysis of 3D Reconstruction of Sandstone Microstructure using 2D Section Image
Using simulated annealing method and two-point probability function, we reconstruct section images of sandstone. Utilizing the tomographic image of the sandstone sample, we compared the characteristic of reconstructed and tomographic microstructure. Image analysis reveals that the reconstruction successfully reproduces some properties of sandstone microstructure. But reconstructed pore seem to be more homogeneous and disconnect, which may have impact on the permeability of sandstone. At last we point out new information can be incorporated into the reconstruction procedure to reproduce the properties of sanstone microstructure more accurately.
