Water Quality Development Program in Japan
The Ministry of Health,Labor and Welfare has published the Vision of Water Services in June 2004 in order to renovate the Japanese water services system for the sustainable development in the 21st century. The background of the Water Vision describes the current situation and future prospect of Japanese water supply sector.Although the Water Vision deals many aspects of water services,this paper mainly deals the water quality management.The contents are the current status,the long term policy,comprehensive measures and actions to be taken with in a couple of decades.The main issues is how to manage the water quality from water source to consumer tap by collaborating every stake holders in order to sustain the wailings to pay of customers for water services.
