Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 4-(2-carbozyethylamino)benzoic acid

A new potential ligand,4-(2-carboxyethylamino)benzoic acid,was synthesized from p-Aminobenzoic acid and 3-chloropropanoic acid in KOH aqueous solution under N2 atmosphere,and it was characterized by H NMR,IR and X-Ray diffractionmeter. The structure was refined to R =0.0591 and wR 1=0.1654 for 2059 observed reflections(I>2σ(I)). The crystallographic results of molecule 1 show that this title ligand has 1D H2O chain and four types of hydrogen bond,thus they form a 2D layer polymer.
