CORROSION RESISTANCE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTlES OF FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL 00Cr18Mo2
Ferrific stainless steel OOCr18Mo2 has wide applications and great potential in its future development. In this Paper the experimental results of corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the steel are presented. It is shown that the steel ooCr18Mo2 has good corrosion resistance in mild aggressive environment.Excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC)is the most important feature of the steel, and the localized corrosion resistance is better than AISI 304stainless steel. In order to improve IGC resistance after welding.it is necessary to add a proper amount of Ti in the steel. The deep-drawing formability and impact toughness are satisfactory for lmm mill-annealed cold rolling steel sheets, the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature is below-78℃;but the transition temperature Can rise up to about room temperature(O.25℃)after heating at high temperature. The resultsindicate that there is no reason to worry about the brittle failure of the equipment made by lmm mill-annealed steel sheets without welding and operated at commonly used temperatures;however,a special importance must be attached to the embrittlement of welding heat affected zone even at room temperature for the welded components.
