境中における1,4-ジオキサンの生分解ポテンシャル

For the evaluation of biodegradation potential of 1,4-dioxane in various environments, total of 38 environmental samples including river water, landfill leachate, activated sludge, landfill soil, soil from drainage of chemical factory, and garden soil were subjected to 1,4-dioxane degradation test.In 4 soil samples from drainage of chemical factory,100 mg/L of 1,4-dioxane was decreased to below detection limites (0.8 mg/L) within 14 days.In other 4 samples a certain degree of 1,4-dioxane edgradation was observed. Among them , in 1 soil sample from draingae of chemical factory 81% of 1,4-dioxane (initial conc.100 mg/L)was decreased within 28 days,and in 1 activated sludge and 2 landfill soil samples 69,41,and 38% of 1,4-dioxane (initial conc. 100 mg/L)was decreased within 14 (activated sludge)and 22(landfill soil)days only in the co-presence of tetrahydrofuran (THF),respectively. These 4 smples which showed incomplete 1,4-dioxane degratation could degrade 1,4-dioxane to below detection limits after repeated enrichment except for a soil sample from drainage of chemical factory which lost 1,4-dioxane degradation ability after 3 times enrichment. However, most of the smples (30/38) did not show 1,4-dioxane degradation. Thus, it can be concluded that 1,4-dioxane degadation potential is distributed in quite limited area such as chemically-contaminated environment.
