Search for Bioactive Substances from Marine Bioconsortia

摘要：

Bioactive compounds from natural origin have beenstudied from ancient time. It attracted a great dealof attention to discover drug candidates frommicrobial bioactive secondary metabolites, afterpenicillin and streptomycin were found as potentantibiotics fifty years ago. Up to now, themetabolites from microorganisms have been found toexhibit various biological activities as an importantsource for development of new medicines such asanticancer agents, immunosuppressive agents,therapeutic agents of diabetes and so on.
