The oceans contain a vast biological diversity ofspecies that have so far been utilized by mankindmainly as a source of protein. In the last fewdecades, however, natural products chemists havestarted to discover the wealth of bioactive secondarymetabolites that are produced by marine invertebratessuch as sponges, soft corals, molluscs and others.
