The Construction of Ezpandable Digital Libraries
Digital library becomes one of the most importinfrastructures in aninformation society．There are many technicalchallenges while building a huge scale,expandable digital library system．In this paper,weare interesting in the underlyingstructure of digital library and informationretrieval system．We demonstrate a wayusing Vega Grid technology to construct an expandabledigital library．Informationretrieval is a key service to the digitallibrary．Different form traditional informationretrieval problem,information retrieval for digitallibrary should have the ability tomanage very large document collections．Somepromising information retrievaltechnology for digital library is studicd．
