China”s nonferrous metallurgy industry and its relevance to refractories
As well known, there exists a reciprocal relationshipbetween refractories industry and high temperatureindustries, in particular metallurgy industry.Refractories are consumed in many metallurgicalprocesses of nonferrous metallurgy industry and haveclose association with the technological progress ofthis sector. In the past two decades, China”snonferrous metallurgy industry has kept fast growing,with much increased output, improved processtechnologies and more imported advanced equipment andtechnologies, which have put forward stringerrequirements on refractories, not only in quantity,but in variety and performance as well. This article,based on the authors” knowledge and information,reviews the development of China”s nonferrousmetallurgy industry in recent years and the relatedrefractories issues.
