Direct electrochemical reduction of Dy2O3-Fe for preparing DyFe2 alloy in molten calcium choride
The DyFe2 alloy is prepared by the direct electrochemical reduction of Dy2O3-Fe in molten CaCl2 at 800℃ in Ar atmosphere.The voltage of 3.1 V is applied.The composite of obtained products are determined by XRD.The main composite is DyFe2 alloy approximately 95%,others are DyFe3 alloy and Dy2O3.The exhausts are mainly CO2 and CO.The temperature to alloys is lower than that of DyFe2 alloy melt.
