THE FINE DIFFERENCE-MODERN FORGING MANIPULATORS FOR OPEN-DIE FORGING PLANTS
Looking at Forging Manipulators of different types．one can recognize‘fine differences’，whichare of importance during the forging process．Manipulators of Dango & Dienenthal in Siegen(DDS) incorporate a set of such‘fine design features’,which distinguish them from others．However．where are those‘fine’differences?This will be easily explained and displayed within the presented paper．DDS has developed a certain design routine and an important philosophy to generate reliable products also for very high loads in giant forge shops．based on the day-to-day experience with smaller machines，which have been built during the decades of machine development．Besides the reliable design．one should pay attention to three key aspects：Accuracy-Acceleration—Accessibitity is mainly in concern during the discussion with forge masters in regard to those vital plant components．
