A Comparison of Control Charts for Detecting Variance Shift in Phase Ⅰ
In this article we will give two alterative control charts for detecting the shift in the variance of the process mean in Phase I.One is a CUSUM chart based on likelihood ratio statistics and the other is a Shewhart chart based on the F statistics which is the ratio of two sample variances, each divided by its population variance. The simulated results show that the proposed two control charts are, respectively, superior to their competitors in the detection of sustained shifts.
