Pressure-Volume Curve and the Treatment of ARDS:A Brief Introduction

When we look on the pressure-volume curve of the respiratory system, i.e. lung and the chest wall, we often talk about two curves and 6 turn points, the inspiratory and expiratory curve and the lower and upper inflection points as well as the true inflection points of both curves. Venegas and Harris used an equation to describe those characteristics of the above.
