Improved Sphere Decoder for Multi-stream Transmission over MIMO Systems

摘要：

The virtue of the sphere decoder(SD)is that it simplifies the optimum detection ofmultiple-input-multiple-output(MIMO)systems.In conventional schemes,the SD is utilized todetect the MIM0 systems where all the streams have the same modulation types.However,when themodulation types on the difierence streams are difierent,the conventional SD could not achievemaximal-likelihood(ML)performance.In this paper,we propose an improved SD(ISD)to detectmultistream transmission where the modulation types are different at difierent streams.Simulationresults show that the ISD achieves ML performance with much lower computational complexity andsignificantly outperforms the minimum mean squared error(MMSE)detector with orderedsequential interference cancellation(osIc).
