Esophageal replacement with colon for esophageal carcinoma after gastrectomy
The purpose of this paper is to report clinicaldata and experiences of esophageal replacement withcolon (ERC) for esophageal carcincma(EC) aftergastrectomy(G)MATERIALS AND METHODSBetween 1975 and 2006, 33 patients with previous Gunderwent ERC for thoracic esophageal squamous cellcarcinoma, retrospectively. There were 31 males and 2female with a mean age of 54.9 years (range, 42-71years )The EC was in the upper segment of thoracic esophagusin 6 P, the middle segment in 22, and the lowersegment in 5. The length of the EC was 1.5cm in 1patient, 3cm-4cm in 13, 5cm~8cm in 15 and more than8cm in 4, among them, esophageal and gastriccarcinoma in 1 patient (double primary carcinoma).The period of time from G to REC was 50 days in 1patient,3 months in 1, 6 years-15years in 21, 19years~28 years in 8, 35 years in 1 and 40 years in 1.
