ACTIF,A Design Assistance for Interoperable TransportatiOn Systems in France
The ACTIF project was launched in 2001 by the French Ministry ofTransport to build a national frame for the deployment of ITS around the country. After a first phase of modelisation inspired by the foreign architectures(USA,Japan,European)it appeared that a specific method was needed to as-sist the authorities in charge of the deployment of real systems to precise their needs and their organisation.A tool has been develop to create archi tectures appropriate to these deployments.ACTIF is now a combination of a conceptualmodel describing the whole domain of ITS,at a high level but including all modesof transport,a method to use it and a set of tools available without charge fromthe web site www.its-actif.org.The method is illustrated by case studies in vari-ous domains.
