An Analysis of Tone Sandhi in Disyllabic Sequence in Huangxian County Dialect
This thesis presents an experimental and phonological analysis of Tone Sandhi in disyllabic sequence in Huangxian County Dialect. In analyzing tone compounds in disyllabic sequences, three tone sandhi rules are sorted out as follows:(1)T1+”T1,T2,T3,T4”→T2+”T1,T2,T3,T4”(2)T3+”T1 T3”→T2+”T1,T3”(3)T4+T1→T2+T1.The tone sandhi process in disyllabic sequences can be analyzed by the following ranked constraints in OT thoery:R.MAX(T)>>DEP-IO(T),MAX(T),HH-PRIORTY>><”*>Low,<”*>RISING,<”*>L-TONOME,>>IDENT-IO>>OCP.
