Remaining Service Life Estimation of Concrete Structures Using Neuro-Fuzzy Theory
The durability and structural performance of reinforced concrete(RC)structures decrease as time goes on due to various reasons, and it thus requires consistent maintenance works to meet their target service life.If remaining service life(RSL)of the RC structures can be estimated,it would be very useful to establish their effective maintenance strategies. While the RSL of the RC structures is greatly influenced by various factors, the effects of only less than a few primary influencing factors on their durability have been studied so far. Thus, this study proposed an Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System(ANFIS)that can estimate the RSL of RC structures considering combined deteriorations, based on field inspection data obtained from 21 RC structures.Especially, the structural reliability theory has been introduced in this study to reflect the effects of both structural and durability performance on the RSL of the RC structures.
