Systematic Review Articles Published in Top Educational Technology Journals:2008-2018
An increasing number of systematic review articles were published by the 20-top journals in educational technology in recent years(Google Scholar,2018).This short presentation shares with the audience the results of a systematic review of those systematic review articles published by the 20-top journals in educational technology field in the past ten years(2008-2018).The specific results include(1)the number of systematic review articles published,(2)specific review topics and the numbers of article citations achieved,(3)study locations,(4)inclusive/exclusive criteria used,and(5)popular rationale for conducting systematic reviews,(6)common strategies in systematic reviews,and(7)common problems in in synthesizing and generalizing the findings.The review results indicate that fast advancements of technologies and their inevitable impacts on learning and instruction make researchers and practitioners to take systematic and reflective approaches towards issues we face in today's world.The presentation will also offer suggestions to those who wish to conduct systematic review of interested topics for either research or dissertation study.(167 words).
