Conducting Effective Learning by Using Key Questions
The authors have been engaged in lesson planning which uses key questions as one of the tools for their design of lessons.This article is a research which focuses on students' depth of learning through the use of key questions for the Grade 8 Chinese Language and Grade 10 IBDP Physics students.By using three specific dimensions; namely; high-order questions; integrative approach and reflective approach; key questions have been used in the lessons.It was found that appropriate use of key questions could cater for learner diversity and increase the depth of learning.However; it might not lead to high academic performance which was confirmed in the other previous literature.Nevertheless; helping students to be deep learners could prepare them better as a life-long learner in future.
