mercury contaminated soil by FeS,modified steel slag and modified fly ash
In this experiment,mercury-contaminated soil is stabilized using converter steel slag,thermal power plant fly ash,FeS and its complex combinations featured by a wide range of sources and low costs.The steel slag and fly ash are acid/nano-modified.Single reagents and complex combination reagents with the highest stabilization efficiency are screened based on the stabilization efficiency and its later leaching toxicity.Results show that the stabilization effect of reagents is as follows: acid/nano-modified steel slag+acid/nano-modified fly ash > acid/nano-modified steel slag+FeS > acid/nano-modified fly ash+FeS> acid/nano-modified steel slag> FeS> acid/nano-modified fly ash> nano-modified steel slag> nano-modified fly ash> acid-modified steel slag> acid-modified fly ash> steel slag> fly ash.In single reagent and complex combination reagent experiments,5%acid/nano-modified steel slag,and 2.5%acid/nano-modified steel slag+2.5%acid/nano-modified fly ash rank top by a stabilization efficiency of 99.89%and 99.94%,respectively.Across the range of the molar ratio,mercury content in soil extract remains lower than the limit value 0.10mg/L as stated in GB 5085.3-2007(the leaching toxicity of mercury in soil is 28.163mg/L).Excessive reagent input will result in increased exchangeable mercury content,and steel slag and fly ash are superior to FeS in terms of reagent input.The acid/nanomodified steel slag and fly ash have a greater specific surface area and a stronger adsorption capacity,and conform to the principle of treating waste with waste.There is no need to worry about the leach-out of mercury caused by excessive reagent input when remedying mercury-contaminated soil,and the complex combination of steel slag and fly ash has more prominent remediation effects.
