Smart Library:Trends and Cases
Libraries have gone from a physical space preserving print materials and serving as the information and knowledge center for communities for centuries,to converting to digital resources and expanding patrons worldwide,to collecting online information and adapting to users'learning needs from everywhere.Modern libraries are rapidly morphing into"Smart Library",where space,services and collections are designed spe-cifically for users with flexibilities and customizations using smart technologies.This article provides a literature review on the developments and projects that have been undertaken by li-braries worldwide.And it shares a case of the implementation of smart library at the author's own library.While the author has great anticipation for some features of smart library,this article also attempts to ad-dress the limitation or restriction on future developments of certain trends.
