Analysis of Squealer's Discourse Strategies in Animal Farm
This paper intends to study the discourse strategies pig Squealer utilizes in the novella Animal Farm to reveal its effect on interpersonal relationship.By qualitative method,the research is carried out from three aspects,including self-selection strategy,incompletion-marker strategy and nomination strategy.The result indicates that to keep pigs'power,Squealer tends to use these three different strategies to muzzle other animals'thoughts on the farm.Finally,the paper is expected to provide a new perspective to study how the superior maintain and consolidate their despotism.
