Instability mechanism and engineering cases of surrounding rock in deep high stress,Weak strata caverns
Surrounding rock of caverns in deep high stress condition have the charac-teristics of long deformation duration,large loosening range and large deformation.It is difficult to control caverns'deformation with conventional support methods.Deformation and failure mechanism is as follows:strong creep of weak rock in high stress condition,fractured support structures gradually,until support failure,even roof fall.On the basis of many years of engineering practice,this paper analyses the strata pressure character-istics and instability mechanism of three typical pump caverns.Concept of reconstructed bearing layer was proposed.These caverns are-250 m pump cavern in Sino-Thai Company,39 mining area pumping cavern affected by large fault in Zhongmacun Coal Mine,-800 m Pump cavern of Zhaogu No.2 Coal Mine.Combined with the reinforce-ment principle of surrounding rock of cavern,rebuilding bearing strata was pro-posed.And multiple support on the basis of New Austrian Law was suggested.The typi-cal support technology in Zhaogu No.2 Coal mine is four time supports.And the primary support is bolt-anchor cable-steel beam.The secondary support of surrounding rock is grouting,which can strengthen strata.The third support of surrounding rock is double-deck I-shaped steel bracket.And the fourth support is shotcrete,which can sealed strata.Field investigation shows that the surrounding rock of pump caverns have been effectively controlled.And good technical and economic benefits have been a-chieved.
