Effects of Temperature and Salinity on the Rheological Properties of Polysaccharide/B-PPG Composites
The study evaluated the rheological properties of polysaccharide/B-PPG composites at different concenrations, temperatures and salinities.Rheological results show that the salinity has a greater influ-ence on reducing the viscosity and the dynamic modulus of B-PPG,and the temperature is the dominant affecting factor for xanthan/B-PPG composite.Diutan/B-PPG composite has a superior temperature tol-erance and salt tolerance than B-PPG and xanthan/B-PPG.Strong particle gel was constituted by the in-teraction between diutan gum double helices of and branched chains of B-PPG.It is believed that the method of combination of diutan gum and B-PPG is an effective strategy to enhance the heavy oil in high temperature and high salinity heterogeneous reservoirs.
