Signals in the Soil
This paper introduces a unique,buried-in-soil,frequency response-based(RF)dielectric sensor for measuring soil properties related to soil heath. The RF sensor and its probe previously developed at KSU is improved and tested to measure multiple soil properties-volumetric water content(VWC),bulk density, and soil macronutrients NH4-N and NO3-N.Laboratory experiments were conducted to examine the ability of the sensor in real-time measurement and long-term monitoring of these properties.
