Numerical simulation of liquid-liquid systems with different concentration in stirred tank
The volume concentration of the liquid-liquid multiphase during the stirring process determines the droplet size of the dispersed phase and the contact area of the two phases,which in turn determines mass transfer,heat transfer and chemical reaction rate between the two phases.The stirring process of the immiscible liquid-liquid multiphase in the stirred tank was studied by CFD method.It was found that the volume fraction of the dispersed phase has a significant effect on the average droplet diameter,the fluid flow rate,and the liquid phase kinetic energy.When the impeller velocity was constant,the volume fraction of the dispersed phase had relationship with these fluid properties.There was an important guiding significance of this work on the synthesis reaction in the chemical industry.
