STARD13 Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Apoptosis via Acting as a ceRNA for Fas

Obejective:This work aims to study the role of STARD13 in Fas-triggered apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)progression. Results:Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PC R)and immunohistochemistry analysis showed that the expression levels of STARD13 and Fas was lower in clinical HCC tissues than normal tissues and they were correlated positively, which is consistent with the results acquired in TCGA data.Meanwhile, patients with higher STARD13 or Fas expression had longer overall survival.Additionally,STARD13 3'UTR enh anced cell apoptosis and the 3'UTRs of STA RD13 and Fas were found to harbor nine same miRNAs binding sites. And STARD13 3'UTR could promote Fas expression in a 3'UTR-and miRNA-dependent way,and increase the sen sitivity of HCC cells to chemotherapy.Impo rtanly, the coding sequence of STARD13 did not posses the stimulative effects on Fas expression.Conclusion:STARD13 3'UTR cou 1d promote HCC apoptosis through acting as a ceRNA for Fas.
