The survival Analysis of AIDS patients treated by traditional Chinese medicine
Objective To explore the survival time of HIV/AIDS patients treated by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and its influencing factors. Methods The clinical data of 469 HIV/AIDS patients who were treated with TCM were analyzed. Then, the life table method was used to analyze the patients'survival time, and the factors affecting the patients'survival time were analyzed by Cox and other proportional risk regression. Results The median survival time of the patients was 72.25 months.Univariate analysis showed that the factors that significantly influenced the survival time were hemoglobin, serum creatinine(Cr),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),CD4,Karovsky score, fatigue, wrinkled tongue, thready pulse and TCM syndrome differentiation. In addition, the results of multifactor analysis showed that Cr,AST,thready pulse and TCM syndrome differentiation were more decisive. Conclusion Hemoglobin,CD4 and Karovsky integral are protective factors for survival time of patients with AIDS,while Cr,AST,fatigue, wrinkled tongue, thready pulse and TCM syndrome differentiation are risk factors. In clinical pratice, corresponding measures should be taken to improve the survival time and quality of life, and reduce mortality.
