Research on Waterfront Terrestrial Plant Landscape Art in Westlakes Small Waters of Hangzhou
The landscape of Westlake is as beautiful as a painting, varying shapes of waters interspersed in it. Each one deploys plants according to its own natural features, Viewing Fish at Flower Ponds bright and fiery, Lotus Stirred by Breeze in Quyuan Gardens quiet and elegant, prince Bay Parks leisurely and fresh, and all impressed people. To understand the arrangement of waterfront terrestrial plants in Westlakes small water, this paper investigated current deployment of terrestrial plants around Westlakes small waters, analyzed the influence to small waters waterscape style by terrestrial plants main structure and arrangement methods. The common structures of waterfront terrestrial plants in Westlakes small water contain single-level woods, multi-level woods and waterfront lawn etc. Waterfront plant has great originality in design in many aspects such as view distance, shore line, color, shape and planting pattern. Here this paper analyzes the methods of landscaping such as space building, seasonal color change, arrangement in color and shape and appreciative angel and so on, by using Landscape garden in Hangzhou botanical garden as an example.
