Study on Biofouling Growth Kinetics in Recirculating Cooling Water System

To understand the formation mechanism and treatment methods of biofouling in recirculating cooling water system, the dynamic process of biofouling development at different nutrient levels. The results showed that the levels of nutrient had a significant influence upon the dynamic process of biofouling formation, as well as the parameters of Logistic model. The improved nutrient levels led to the decrease of biofouling initial attachment period but the increase of logarithmic phase and eventual stable biomass.
