STUDY ON PREPARATION OF NANO-HEMATITE COLLOID AND ITS APPLICATION IN WATER-BASED NANO-INK

The nano-hematite colloid has a bright prospect in the printing ink area. This paper reported the preparation of nano-hematite colloid and its application in the water-based nano-ink. Firstly, a high quality nano-hematite colloid was synthesized with the low temperature method, using ferric sulphate and ammonia as raw materials. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (ATM) and Layer Scattering particle size analyzer (LS). The results showed that the particles were spherical particles with mean size 40 nm, good crystallinity and monodispersity. Secondly, a novel water-based nano-hematite ink was prepared using the as-prepared nano-hematite paste as the pigment, and Joncryl 678 as the binder. The determination results of the ink’s performances showed that the water-based nano-ink was superior to the traditional water-based ink.
