FAILURE FEATURES AGAINST THE MESO-STATISTICAL PARAMETERS OF THE AGGREGATE IN LIQUID RUBBER BASED CONCRETE UNDER STATIC
The liquid rubber based concrete (LRBC) is a new kind of concrete-like composite in which the matrix is liquid rubber and the aggregate is stone with irregular shapes and sizes. The new concrete is under developing, which demands to learn its whole mechanics properties especially the failure features to help the optimization design. In the paper, the 2D models of LRBC with three-phase meso-structure were constructed to learn its failure properties in static tension. In the 2D models of the new concrete, the aggregates were configured by specified statistical shapes and sizes. In the analysis, firstly, six samples with same group of meso statistical parameters of the aggregate geometry were investigated to study the discreteness of the macro properties of the material with same group meso statistical parameters; Secondly, the failure process and fracture features were compared among the samples with different groups of meso statistical parameters of aggregate geometry, for each group of statistical parameters, the macro properties of the material are derived by the average of three samples with the group of meso statistical parameters The numerical results derived the influence of the aggregate geometry and distribution on the tensile strength, the meso-scopic deformation and failure features of the LRBC, which help to learn that the mixture ratio and gradation of a kind of concrete are not enough to determine the material properties.
