Molecular Evidence for Primary Producers and Sedimentary EnvironmentalConditions of Permian Chihsia Formation in Northeast Sichuan, China
INTRODUCTION Biomarkers are demonstrated to be indicative of the organic origins and types, sedimentary environmental conditions, thermal evolution history and the alteration of organics (Xie et al., 2007, 2005; Peters et al., 2005; Peters and Moldowan, 1993; Johns, 1986; Philp, 1985). Reconstruction of the composition of the primary productivity on the basis of the biomarker records was widely conducted in sedimentary rocks (Sachs and Anderson, 2005; Meyers and Takeuchi, 1981).
