Evaluation of Water Resources Carrying Capacity in Arid Inland Basins
The water resources carrying capacity is an important component of natural resource carrying capacity in sustainable development process, which is the key to basin water resources, the social economy and the sustainable and concordant development of ecological environment. The study taking Manas River basin for example, uses AHP to account the different weight to each evaluating indicator and then makes a comprehensive evaluation on basin water resources carrying capacity in different years through the establishment of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model and matter-element model. The results shows that the water resources carrying capacity of Manas River basin will stay on V1 (non-carrying condition), but because of saving water technology and industry restructure adjustment, the water resources carrying capacity of Manas River will assume the benign tendency in the future. At last, some approaches and measures such as water-saving irrigation, water resources management and water pollution prevention are put forward to advance water resource carrying capacity for the basin.
