Gain-flattened Raman Amplifiers with Novel Designed Photonic Crystal Fiber
Numerical analysis of Raman fiber amplifier (RFA)based on photonic crystal fibers (PCF.) has been done. Simple pure silica square PCF with 5 rings airhole and hexagon PCF with 8 rings air-hole are reported and high-nonlinearity, low flat-dispersion and low confinement loss have been obtained. The designed PCFs are applied in RFA as gain medium and numerical results indicate that flat gain can be obtained in broad range by optimizing PCFs structure.
