Function Study of Media Crisis Communication-Based on Case Analysis of China Media Coping with Wenchuan Earthquake
A major earthquake with Richter 8.0 occurred in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, southeast China on the 12th of May, 2008. The causalities and economic loss caused by this earthquake were the worst since foundation of New China. Faced with the catastrophe, China media with their weapons cameras and reports successfully fulfilled their duties and helped government to combat against the major disaster together. Its no wonder that China media published news related to earthquake rapidly and transparently after the earthquake, which would be of great beneficence for life-saving and damagereducing.
