Application of IEM Concepts & Methods in Land Degradation Control in Western China

摘要：

Based on ecological situation and severity of land degradation in western China, this paper points out the necessity and importance in improving ecosysteM management. It also describes IEM concept and method as well as the accomplishments of GEF/OP12 in Qinghai Province. Thereafter, it summarizes the management practices in land degradation control, using the IEM concept and method. These provide examples for land degradation control to western China and even arid and semi-arid regions of less developed countries worldwide.
